A new exhibit comes to Palma; The Mediterranean, our sea as never seen before

02/03/2016

Prepare to experience and discover the Mediterranean as you have never done before, feel what it is like to swim in a shoal of tuna, watch the evolution of the salinity crisis with your very own eyes, or learn about the current dangers which threaten the future of our sea. From the 4th of February until the 8th of May you can visit the exhibition "The Mediterranean, our sea as never seen before" at the CaixaForum Palma, enjoy the experience of discovering the Mediterranean as a biologically fascinating area.

"Mediterranean" is so much more than an exhibition about marine life.  It is a window through which to reflect on our relationship with the sea and how we should act on one objective fact: the overcrowding of its coasts and limited capacity for renewal have made the Mediterranean one of the areas with the highest levels of contamination and number species in danger of extinction in the world.

A visit to the exhibition teaches you about the past of this sea, it provides information about the present and shows what challenges are planned for its sustainability in the future.

The sustainability of the Mare Nostrum is without doubt an important challenge; your visit to this exhibition will change your way of seeing our sea.
