SOCIB actively participated in the last edition of the Science Week during November, 2015. The Week of Science and Technology is the most important initiative for scientific publication in many regions . Since 2001 is organized on a national basis with the objectives of bringing science to the public of all ages, stimulate the taste for scientific knowledge and encourage the participation of citizens in scientific issues.

On 22, 23 and 24 October 2015, took place the “VI Conference on Teaching Physics and Chemistry” at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona. When I get asked – what are you studying? what is your job? what is your internship? – and I reply – Oceanography–, I very often get the reply – Ah! fish, right? –, and then when I say specifically Physical Oceanography...you sometimes get a poker face reaction, because they have never heard of Argo buoys or gliders for example
